Certificate of lawfulness - proposed

You should use the application for a Lawful Development Certificate (LDC) for proposed use or development to establish whether a proposed change of use, or operational development, would require planning permission.

Certificate of lawfulness - existing

You should use the application for a Lawful Development Certificate for existing use or development to establish whether an existing use of land, operational development previously undertaken, or activity in breach of a planning condition is lawful, even though it does not have planning permission.
