CIL Phishing Scams
Please be aware that fraudulent attempts to divert developer contributions payments to false bank accounts have been made at other local authorities.
Perpetrators use a similar email addresses to the local authority and sometimes copy the content of messages, inserting their own bank details.
West Berkshire Council does not include payment or bank account details in any e-mail correspondence. All CIL payment and banking details are included in an attached demand notice and invoice. All correspondence concerning payments will only be sent from cil@westberks.gov.uk.
If you or a client is in any doubt regarding an e-mail they have received, please contact the Developer Contributions Team or West Berkshire Council's customer services immediately.
New regulations regarding the the Community Infrastructure Levy (2019) came into force on 1 September 2019.
