Domestic Abuse Champion and awareness training, as well as 'Need to Know' training sessions for professionals

Domestic Abuse Awareness and Champions Training

We offer a one day Domestic Abuse Awareness training course for multi-agency professionals, community organisations and individuals. The course will provide you with an increased awareness of domestic abuse and develop your knowledge of the effects of domestic abuse, types of partner violence, complexities of leaving abusive relationships, power and control and the impact of domestic abuse on children and young people.

Domestic Abuse Champions training is a one day training which will provide attendees with an introduction to their champions role and support attendees knowledge and confidence of completing risk assessments, risk management, safety planning and support services available for victims, survivors, children and young people and perpetrators.

Exploitation, Vulnerability and Safeguarding (Need to Know) Training Sessions - for professionals

Exploitation, Vulnerability and Safeguarding (Need to Know) training is a free, two hour session for professionals run by Thames Valley Police. The session will explain what the emerging issues and trends are regarding county drugs lines and the links to modern slavery and child exploitation. The session provides a national overview as well as sharing information on current cases which affect West Berkshire.

This session will explore why children and adults are working for county drugs lines and how social media is used for targeting the most vulnerable in our society. It will support practitioners with how to help and highlight the benefits of partnership working and information sharing, as well as providing information on personal safety awareness.
