Students from schools across West Berkshire are coming together to discuss issues, how they would like to change things in their local area for the better.

The West Berkshire Youth Council provides opportunities for 11-18-year-olds to use their elected voice to bring about social change through meaningful representation and campaigning.

Over time, this area will develop and evolve for the Youth Council.


What are we discussing at the moment

In the last meeting, the Youth Council reviewed the mental health resources available to young people. The Youth Council produced a useful document to share with their peers that signposts young people to help when they need it and there is no adult to refer to.

The Youth Council also discussed meeting the new Councillors for the first time following the recent elections the recent election.


How to join

If you are interested in taking part then email youthcouncil@westberks.gov.uk letting us know who you are, your age and what school you go to. If you are home educated you will be welcome to join as well.

As a young person in West Berkshire you can email your Youth Council and tell us what matters to you  - email your Youth Council and they will put your ideas and/or concerns to the decision makers at the Council.
