GCSE and Level 2 and below VTQs Results Day 25 August 2022
West Berkshire Council congratulates all young people who collected their GCSE, Level 2 and below VTQ results and wishes them well on their next steps on their career paths.

This year, students returned to sitting formal summer exams and assessments following the disruption of the pandemic over the previous two years, with results for 2022 determined solely on the basis of students' work.
2022 will be a transition year to reflect the pandemic recovery period and that students' education has been disrupted, therefore, results in 2022 reflect a midway point between 2021 and 2019, when exams were last sat as normal.
Indicative results this year show 74.7% of West Berkshire students achieved grades 4 or above for both English and maths GCSE, with 54.5% achieving grades 5 or above. Individually, for English, 84.5% achieved grade 4 or above, against an England average of 77.2%. In maths, 78% achieved grade 4 or above, against an England average of 75.1%.
Councillor Dominic Boeck, Executive Member for Education, Children and Young People at West Berkshire Council, said:
"The last two years has seen students deal with a different form of pressure studying for important exams due to the pandemic, home schooling and learning online.
"We can congratulate our students, not only on their results, but for the incredible resilience they've shown during this extraordinarily difficult time. We wish them well as they take their next steps."
For those who are still considering their next steps, in the first instance they should contact their school or college or visit the dedicated results day section of the Berkshire Opportunities website:
