94% of West Berkshire children get Primary School 1st Choice
The wait is over as children in West Berkshire find out which Primary School they'll be going to. We wish them all the best of luck as they take their first steps into education.

West Berkshire Council has maintained its high percentage of first choices for Primary School applications.
94% of children were given their first choice of Primary School this year. This figure has remained consistent for the last eleven years.
This year, 1655 applications were made by the parents of children starting school in September 2022 - of these, 1553 children were given a place at their first-choice school.
Dominic Boeck, West Berkshire's Executive Member for Education, Children and Young People says,
"We're very pleased to once again be able to offer so many children their preferred Primary School.
"We know the importance of taking the first steps into education and try our very best to match up parents' choices and local capacity as best as we can. I'm proud of our great track record of offering almost all children in West Berkshire their first choice and wish them all the best of luck in their new schools."
