End of week 44
Continued progress with utilities and pavement construction.
Last week, progress was made laying the kerbs and edgings that form the carriageway and new footpath. Because the majority of utility works have now been completed, there are no obstacles to laying the kerbs and edges, which form the extents of the carriageway. Once laid, pavement construction can continue. The first pavement to be constructed will be the footpath, once the edgings have been laid at the back of the footpath. Then the lower layers will be put down before the tarmac layers.
The main kerb line for the new carriageway has also started to be laid.
Activities on site next week:
- Finalising traffic light infrastructure, continue laying kerbs and pavement construction.
