End of week 42
Continued progress with utilities and pavement construction.
Last week more progress was made back filling over the utilities. On the northern end of the scheme, more concrete is being laid around the utilities where needed and sub-base has also been laid, up to the intended tarmac level.
Similar progress has been made on the southern end of the scheme, where the road is also being built up to the tarmac level.
The new utility chamber has also now been cast with concrete, ready to be populated. Once this has been completed it will also be surrounded with sub-base and be constructed up to tarmac level.
Once the whole stretch of widening has been constructed up to the same level, then the tarmac can be laid.
Activities on site next week:
- Continuing to construct the new carriageway pavement and new footpath.
