Libraries

Welcome to West Berkshire Library Service. We have libraries in Newbury (our central service), Burghfield Common, Hungerford, Lambourn, Mortimer, Pangbourne, Thatcham, Theale and Wash Common. In addition we have mobile services stopping at over 260 locations throughout West Berkshire.

Everyone is welcome to use the services in our libraries but you need to be a member to borrow items from us.  You can borrow books for FREE but there is a small charge for some other items.  See Membership (on the left) for details.

PART TIME COLLEGE COURSES

This autumn, why not try something new?  Find details of local courses for leisure and learning from your local library.  Newbury College is holding Open Days on Thursday 4th, Friday 5th and Saturday 6th September.  For more details, visit the college's website at www.newbury-college.ac.uk or telephone 01635 845000. 

NEWBURY LIBRARY CLOSURE

Newbury Library will be closed for the day on Monday 29th September.  No items will be due for return on this date and no fines will be charged.  We apologise for any inconvenience caused.  This is closure will allow essential stock maintenance to take place.

NATIONAL YEAR OF READING

2008 is the National Year of Reading.  Whether it's film scripts or manga, sci fi or song lyrics, we want to get everyone reading more.  Look out for special events in West Berkshire Libraries throughout the year.  See Library Events (on the left) for more details.
