The NEW pdf icon walking map for Tilehurst and Purley-on-Thames was launched on 17th May 2010. This map is the second of two maps for the East of West Berkshire, the first map, for pdf icon Theale and Calcot was launched in May 2009. The map continues the theme of the Walking in Thatcham and Walking in Newbury maps to promote a network of local walking routes and shortcuts to help offer alternatives to driving when travelling short distances. As with the previous maps, side 2 of the map has been designed with the help of children at Birch Copse Primary School, Brookfields School, Downsway Primary School, Long Lane Primary School, Purley Church of England Infant School, Springfield Primary School, St.Paul's Catholic Primary SchoolWestwood Farm Infants School and Westwood Farm Junior School and is called 'As the Red Kite Flies 2.'

All the walking maps can be found by below. There are also links to 'A walk around Theale', and the map for Linear Park mentioned on the Walking in Theale and Calcot Map. Copies of the new map (and other maps) are available directly from all Council Offices or by contacting the Transport Policy Team .

The West Berkshire Council's pdf icon Walking Strategy was produced as a part of the Second Local Transport Plan.
