Recycling, Rubbish and Waste Services
West Berkshire Council has invested in a new 25 year waste management contract with Veolia Environmental Services. Our aim is to develop a long term sustainable and environmentally friendly waste management service that will see our recycling rates raised to over 49% and divert 79% of household waste away from landfill.
If you would like to find your refuse and recycling collection day you can do so by entering your Postcode or street name into the search box at the top of the page from anywhere on the site.
This section provides information and guidance for residents on recycling, composting and other waste services.

Did you know in West Berkshire we produce over 80,000 tonnes of rubbish a year? We need to do something to reduce the amount of rubbish we throw away. We all need to recycle more of the right things more often.
Although we are not able to stop producing rubbish completely we can do a lot to reduce its impact on our environment and try to create less rubbish in the first place.
West Berkshire Council provide all residents with a weekly rubbish collection for the disposal of general non-recyclable waste.
West Berkshire Council operates a detailed street cleansing, litter picking and weed treatment programme throughout the District in order to maintain adopted highway land, relevant car parks, subways and bus stations to as high a standard of cleanliness as practicable.
Graffiti is vandalism and it has become a really expensive problem. Removing graffiti costs the UK over £1 billion a year. West Berkshire Council can order authorities, companies and residents to remove graffiti from walls, street furniture, telephone boxes, bus shelters, monuments and even gravestones.
West Berkshire Council has a Cleaner Greener programme. It aims to improve West Berkshire as a whole, tackling issues such as; Graffiti, litter, unwanted vehicles and improving the street scene.
A vehicle is usually thought to have been abandoned if it is not taxed and appears to have been left for a significant amount of time. The vehicle might also show signs of some form of vandalism.
West Berkshire Council offers a bulky waste collection service from your home.
