Home Care

The Home Care Service provides support to enable people to remain in their own homes as independently as possible. Our specialist care staff work with frail and elderly adults, those with physical or sensory impairments, disabled children, and families, in their own homes.

Home Care

The aim of our service is to assist you to continue to do things that other people take for granted. We aim to support you to live in your own home. We do this by providing trained carers to support you to maintain your independence.

We make you, as a service user, the centre of the service, and we give you power and choice over how our services are delivered to you. We are constantly reviewing the services we provide, and updating the skills of our carers to ensure we conform with all legislation and legal requirements that relate to caring and care provision.

Our carers can support you in a variety of ways to help you to regain the ability to live as independently as possible in your home. Because everyone is different we will work with you to find the best way of providing this support for you to achieve this.

Home Care is undergoing some exciting changes and as a result we are looking for carers to work in West Berkshire. We are looking for people who want to make a difference and help people to live independently in their own home.

We regularly carry out a survey of all the people who receive Home Care services in West Berkshire. The survey includes people whose services are provided both by the Council's Home Care Service, and by other providers of care arranged and purchased by the Council.

West Berkshire Council has developed a forum for all Service Users that are receiving a home care service within their own home. This forum allows you the service user to talk about the issues that are effecting you and to invite other departments and professionals to talk about areas that interest or concern you as individuals.
