Learning Disabilities
A learning disability is not the same as learning difficulty or mental illness. It affects the way a person learns new things in any area of life, the way they understand information and how they communicate.

Learning Disability Services provide or purchase social care and support, including a range of day opportunities and services.
West Berkshire Learning Disability Partnership Board (LDPB) was established as a requirement of the 2001 White Paper 'Valuing People: A New Strategy for Learning Disabilities for the 21st Century'. To work in partnership with multi agencies, service users and carers etc, promoting the main principles of 'Valuing People' within West Berkshire Council. 'Valuing People Now' has been published saying what the Government thinks should happen over the next 3 years and what needs to be done next.
