Parish Planning
West Berkshire Council is at the forefront of Parish Planning nationally and has been recognised for its pioneering work in community empowerment (see The Beacon Scheme - accessed from the related pages column on the right)). Across the District, communities, large and small, are developing or have developed a Parish Plan.
On this page you can find out more about Parish Planning. There is advice on how to prepare and implement a Parish Plan with links to information on consultation and funding.
You can:
- find out about 'Meet the Expert' Evenings and Parish Plan Surgeries

- view finalised Parish Plans and information about the Parish Plan Grant Fund.
Further news about events can be found on the Action for All - CCB Community Planning website.

Don't forget to claim your Parish Plan Grant Fund!
If you have a completed Parish Plan you can apply for up to £5,000 per year (in any one year) to help kick start or pay for a project in your Plan. The money must be for capital funding only and your community needs to put 15% in cash or kind towards the project. Priority will be given to new parish plans or parishes that have not previously applied.
Before you submit your application, please discuss the application informally with Sarah Ward (details right) who will be happy to advise you.
You can access the
Parish Plan Grant Fund Application Form for printing (click on the link) or from the downloads column on the right.
