Local Development Scheme (LDS)
The Local Development Scheme (LDS) is a three year project plan which explains what development plan documents (DPDs) will be included in the West Berkshire Local Development Framework (LDF).
The Council has produced a Local Development Scheme, which is available to download from the link on the right. The purpose of the LDS is to explain what documents will be included in the West Berkshire LDF over the next few years, when each document will be produced, and when stakeholders and the public will be involved in the production of each document. It also explains the different status of documents within the LDF. A summary of our current proposals is outlined below.
Documents to be prepared
The Council is intending to produce the following Development Plan Documents (DPDs) between 2010 and 2014:
- West Berkshire Core Strategy
- Site Allocations and Delivery
- Proposals Maps

The Annual Monitoring Report (AMR) will provide an annual update on the progress of preparing these documents against key milestones and highlight any new or emerging issues which may necessitate a review of the LDS.
The LDS was adopted by the Council on 27th May 2010 and the Secretary of State has confirmed that it may be brought into effect. It will have effect from 1st July 2010.
