Western Area Youth Team
The Western Area Youth Team is based at the John O'Gaunt Youth & Community Centre in Hungerford. The team deliver youth work in the western and Downlands area of the Authority and have strong links with voluntary groups providing activities for young people. Programmes include drop-in sessions in schools, youth clubs, holiday activities and street work with young people.
John O'Gaunt Youth & Community Centre
The John O'Gaunt Centre is situated next door to the John O'Gaunt Community Technology College in Priory Road, Hungerford and is on the same site as Hungerford Leisure Centre. Community groups that currently use the Centre include Ladybugs (a parent and toddler group), Newbury College (Watercolour art class) and The Community of Hungerford Theatre Company (Rehearsals for productions throughout the year).
The Centre has a good size main hall, a separate kitchen and coffee bar area and full disabled toilet facilities. The Centre is available for hire at reasonable rates both for community and commercial use.

Croft Field Centre
The Croft Field Centre is a 5-minute walk from Hungerford Town Centre and is adjacent to the Kennet & Avon Canal. The Centre consists of a one-storey building with a community room and kitchenette, a small meeting room and toilets and showers. In addition, there is a boat shed and a 1/2 acre field, which provides a popular base for youth groups such as Scouts and Duke of Edinburgh Award expeditions. Youth Clubs in the Western Area
The Western Area Youth Team currently supports 3 Youth Clubs for young people in Hungerford, Kintbury and Lambourn. As the popularity of the clubs increases, so does the need for volunteer helpers in all these locations. If you are over 18, can spare at least a couple of hours a month and can offer your support to the young people in either Hungerford, Kintbury or Lambourn, then please get in touch with the team at the John O'Gaunt Centre.
John O'Gaunt Youth Club

Wednesdays 7pm to 9pm - For young people in school year 8 and above - 60p per week for members, £1 for non members (plus extra for tuck shop if required)
The John O'Gaunt Youth Club is run by a team of qualified and voluntary Youth Workers. The club is designed to offer a place for young people to relax, have fun, to inspire and be inspired. As well as a programme of weekly activities each term, both in the youth centre and school sports hall, additional activities can include caring for virtual babies, football and pool tournaments, sleep overs, trips away, disco's, etc. The young people work closely with the staff team to design new ideas for the Club and ensure the programme is full of things the young people want to do.
Kintbury Youth Club
Preston Hall, Gainsborough Avenue, Kintbury
Mondays 6.30 pm to 8.30pm - For young people aged 13+ - 60p per week for members, £1 for non-member (plus extra for tuck shop if required)
Kintbury Youth Club provides a safe and fun environment for young people and is run by qualified Youth Workers. The Club offers a wide range of activities and facilities include a brand new outdoor sports court for basketball, football, dodge ball, etc., a pool table and table tennis table.
Lambourn Youth Club
The Lambourn Centre, Close End, Lambourn
Mondays - 6.30pm - 8.30pm - For young people aged 13 - 16 year olds - 60p per week for members, £1 for non- members (plus extra for tuck shop if required)
Run by qualified Youth Workers, the Club takes advantage of its location in a sports centre by providing energetic activities, such as basketball, dodge ball, unihoc and football. There's also a clubroom with ample space to chill out or get involved with Playstation, pool or a wide range of arts and craft activities.
