Travel Guides - bus timetable book and accessibility information
West Berkshire Council's District-wide Travel Guide (incorporating local bus timetables and travel information), Public Transport Map and the Getting There Guide, which provides information about accessible door-to-door transport for people with restricted mobility.
The Council's Travel and Transport Guides, together with the Public Transport Map, are available to view and print by going to the Downloads section, which can be found on the right hand side of this page.
The 'District-wide Travel Guide' contains the bus timetables for West Berkshire, as well as rail network information, contact details for bus and train operators and a schematic map of the local public transport network.
The 'Getting There Guide' provides details of accessible, door-to-door community transport services intended for people with restricted mobility, such as HandyBus and ReadiBus. The purpose of the 'Getting There Guide' is to enable customers and in particular those with mobility and sensory impairments, to access transport services in West Berkshire more easily.
If you require a hard copies of the Guides, please fill out the online request form 'Request Travel Guide Form' link to the right of this page. Alternatively, hard copies of the Guides are normally available from West Berkshire libraries and Council Offices, or from the Tourist Information office at The Wharf in Newbury. We regret that we are not however able to supply hard copies of the Public Transport Map.
Please note that the information contained in the Transport Guides is checked at the time of going to print. However, it is advisable to check the latest timings using the Traveline public transport journey planning service online at www.traveline.info or by telephone on 0871 200 22 33 (calls cost 10 pence per minute plus network extras), or by contacting the bus operator directly, before travelling.
