Free Family Active Session for those with disabilities

On Saturday 20th March, West Berkshire Council's Arts & Leisure Team is holding a special 'Family Active' event designed for anyone with a disability and their relatives

Issued on 9 March 2010

Following the success of the fun-packed weekend which took place over half term, two taster sessions will take place, free of charge, specifically for families that include someone with a disability.

There will be a taster gym session at the Kennet Leisure Centre, featuring equipment specially designed for those with disabilities. There will also be an angling session at the The Nature Discovery Centre in Thatcham. Coaching and instruction will be available so no previous experience is necessary.

'Family Active' provides opportunities for relatives to try new activities together in a fun environment. Guidance is also provided on the next steps to take if they wish to pursue the activity further. The next session for all families is due to be held in April.

All places must be pre-booked by calling (01635) 519821.

For more details about 'Family Active' please visit the Family Active webpage.
