Pay your Council Tax
You can pay your bill online, by Direct Debit, by telephone, by post or at our payment office.
Council Tax is an annual charge, usually collected over 10 monthly instalments from April - January. If you become liable for Council Tax mid-year this may be adjusted to help you meet your liability, however your liability should be cleared within the financial year to which it relates.
Please have your Council Tax account number and details ready.
Pay by Direct Debit
To set up a direct debit please telephone us on 01635 519520. Please have your Council Tax account number and bank details ready.
Payment may be made using any debit card (except American Express or Electron), 24 hours a day, 365 days a year using a secure facility. You can pay online here.
Pay over the telephone
Our automated telephone payment system is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on 0845 8350 122. Most debit or credit cards are accepted (excluding American Express and Electron).

Pay by post
Payments by cheque or postal order may be sent to West Berkshire Council, Council Offices, Market Street, Newbury, RG14 5LD. Please ensure that you quote your account number each time a payment is made. Do not send cash through the post. We do not accept post-dated cheques.
