Timetables and Guides

Transport guides are available to view and print, listed on the Downloads section on the right hand side.

Newbury Buses have changed some of their bus routes mainly in the Newbury/Thatcham area, a map of the network can be found under the Downloads section.

If you require hard copies please fill out the online request form 'Request Travel Guide Form' link on the right of this page, or alternatively they are available from West Berkshire libraries and Council Offices, or the tourist information office in Newbury.

Please note there may be changes to some of the services shown in the transport guides since production.

It is advisable to check the timings with the operator, Traveline or West Berkshire Council before travelling - contact details can be found in the transport guides.  Services may be interrupted by adverse weather conditions, including severe snow and icy conditions over the winter period.

Bus Stops and Shelters

There are approximately 1000 bus stops or shelters in West Berkshire. Bus Shelters are the responsibility of the appropriate town or parish council and so any queries or requests for new shelters should be addressed to them. Bus stops are provided either by the Council or the bus companies. Either of these parties should be notified of damaged stops, or with requests for new stops.  For the location of Newbury Bus Station, please click on the Offsite Links: 'Location of Newbury Bus Station'.

Bus Drivers

Would you like to drive buses? There is a national shortage of good bus drivers. Many of the operators in West Berkshire would be glad to hear from you. Please contact the operators directly. Alternatively, if you have a few spare hours and would like to drive the Council's Handybuses, assisting the elderly and disabled, then either get in touch with the volunteer bureau direct or contact the Council's Public Transport Officer.

Comments and Complaints

If you have any complaints about services, these should either be addressed directly to the bus companies or to the Council's Public Transport Officer. We would also appreciate any comments you may have on improving services within the district. Please mark all correspondence for the attention of the Public Transport Officer.
