Children and Young People's Plan 2008-2011
"A Fair and Equal Chance for All Children and Young People"
'A Fair and Equal Chance for all Children and Young People' is the second West Berkshire Children and Young People's Plan. It covers 2008-2011 and illustrates joint priorities of the organisations delivering services for children and young people in West Berkshire. This new Plan builds on previous successes and has incorporated the views of children, young people, parents, carers and stakeholder organisations. It is closely aligned to the Local Area Agreement (LAA), West Berkshire's Council Plan and the West Berkshire Sustainable Community Strategy.
The Plan should be read with its Action Plan that details how agencies in West Berkshire will work in close partnership and join-up service delivery to achieve improved outcomes. It aims for all children and young people in West Berkshire to;
- be healthy by living a healthy lifestyle and enjoying good physical and mental health
- stay safe by being protected from harm and neglect
- enjoy and achieve by getting the most out of life and developing skills for adulthood
- make a positive contribution by being involved with the community and not engaging in antisocial or offending behaviour
- achieve economic well being by not being prevented by economic disadvantage from achieving their full potential in life.
