West Berkshire Leisure Centres

West Berkshire Council operates eight leisure centres in partnership with Parkwood Leisure. Parkwood also operate the Kintbury Jubilee Centre in partnership with the Trustees of the Gladstone Memorial Trust. The links below will provide general information on each of the facilities together with information on timetables.


Gentleman over 60 enjoying swimming session
The National Free Swimming programme will cease to operate on July 31st 2010 following a decision by the Government to withdraw funding for the scheme. However West Berkshire Council have been working with their management operator Parkwood Leisure, to put in place a programme commencing on August 1st running through to March 31st 2011

West Berkshire Residents Card
A West Berkshire Card allows residents of the District to benefit from discounted charges at a range of West Berkshire Council facilities

West Berkshire Council is committed to working with our customers to improve the quality of service provided within our leisure centres. As part of this process the Council is introducing a Mystery Shopper Programme and is looking to recruit volunteers who are willing to provide feedback about their visit.

Cotswold Sports Centre logo
The Cotswold Sports Centre is a multi-use sports facility based within the East of the district in the Parish of Tilehurst. The facility is managed on behalf West Berkshire Council Council by Parkwood Leisure.

Downland Sports Centre Logo
The Downland Sports Centre is a dual use sports centre located on the site of The Downs School in Compton in the North of the district and serving the rural parishes of that area. Downland Sports Centre is managed by Parkwood leisure on behalf of West Berkshire Council.

Hungerford leisure centre Logo
The Hungerford Leisure Centre based at the John O'Gaunt School in Hungerford is managed on behalf of the Council by Parkwood Leisure.

Kennet Leisure Centre Logo
Kennet Leisure Centre based within the Kennet School in Thatcham is managed on behalf of the Council by Parkwood Leisure and boasts extensive wet and dry facilities and activities for everyone.

The Lambourn Sports Centre Logo
The Lambourn Sports Centre is a purpose built community facility available to all ages and all abilities and located in the heart of the village of Lambourn within the Valley of the Race Horse. The Lambourn Sports Centre is managed by Parkwood Leisure on behalf of West Berkshire Council

Northcroft Leisure Centre logo
The Northcroft Leisure Centre is a multi-purpose sports centre and swimming complex based in the centre of Newbury. It is managed on behalf of West Berkshire Council by Parkwood Leisure

Theale Green Recreation Centre Logo
The Theale Green Recreation Centre is located within Theale Green Community School in Theale and offers a range of indoor and outdoor sports opportunities.

Willink Leisure Centre logo
Willink Leisure Centre is located within the grounds of the Willink School in Burghfield Common and is managed on behalf of the Council by Parkwood Leisure.

Parkwood Leisure manage the Jubilee Centre in Kintbury on behalf of the Trustees of the Gladstone Memorial Recreation Ground.

The Activity for Health programme is a partnership led by Berkshire West PCT to develop a range of targeted Physical Activity programmes aimed at those who have particular health issues. Established initially as a GP Referral programme it has now developed to include a range of specialist classes run by fully trained staff.
