Potential Housing Sites
Invitation to submit details of potential housing sites as part of the Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment
The Council has submitted the Local Development Framework Core Strategy, which allocates strategic housing sites, and will be allocating further housing sites through the subsequent Site Allocations and Delivery Development Plan Document.
An important part of the evidence base accompanying this work will be the Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment. This assessment, which is a Government requirement, will aim to identify a wide range of sites that could potentially be used for housing over the coming years. Sites within and outside of current settlement boundaries will be included in the assessment.
If you have an interest in any land in West Berkshire which you consider could be developed for housing, you are invited to submit details to the Council. The form, available as a download on the right, should be completed and returned to the Planning Policy Team, preferably by e-mail. Please note that submitted sites will be included in public documents.
If you have previously made an informal submission to the Council for land to be considered for residential development that submission will be included within the Assessment. If you would like to confirm that we already hold site details or if you do not wish your earlier submission to be included within the Assessment please contact the Planning Policy Team.
Please note that the inclusion of land for consideration in the Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment does not imply that the Council considers that the site is suitable or appropriate for development either now or in the future.
If you are not already registered on the Local Development Framework consultation system and would like to be kept informed of future progress on the LDF, please register your details on the system which is available from the link on the right.
