Care homes

We currently have four care homes for older people that are managed by the Council. We do not provide nursing care.

The four care homes managed by West Berkshire Council are:

The age range for services is mainly 65+, except for services provided at Walnut Close Resource Centre where some services are provided for people aged 50+.

We also provide information on other Care Homes and Agencies in the area , or follow the link to the Care Quality Commission


Notrees
Notrees is a small home for older people with 16 permanent and 2 respite places. It is situated in the village of Kintbury (halfway between Hungerford and Newbury).

Chestnut Walk
Chestnut Walk is a small home for older people with 13 permanent places, up to 5 of these are for people with dementia or a mental health need. It is situated in the market town of Hungerford.

Walnut Close Older Peoples Care Home
Walnut Close Resource Centre provides a range of services for older people in Thatcham.

Birchwood build progress August 06
West Berkshire Council in partnership with A2 Housing Association and Care UK has confirmed the opening of a new care home on Birchwood Road, Newbury in April 2007.

Willows Edge
Willows Edge has 36 permanent and one respite place for older people. It is located in Newbury and specialises in providing care for people with dementia
